Lando LaKeith Young was a beloved friend who passed away far too soon on January 9th, 2025. Lando was loved by everyone in his whole town of Jefferson, Texas as well as at the school he taught at in Cypress, Texas for twenty years (Cypress-Fairbanks). Lando was a coach and math teacher who changed the lives of over 30,000 kids over the course of his career. Lando was a kinesiology major at Stephen F. The Springfield Research Fund Dissertation Fellowship supports graduate students at any stage of their dissertation who are interested in researching contemporary LGBTQIA+ issues in an effort to dispel stereotypes and other negative information that leads to prejudice and discrimination. Hawaii Education Association Student Teacher Scholarship provides financial assistance to members of the Hawaii Education Association (HEA) and their children during their student teaching semester.

To be eligible for the SMA Native American STEM Scholarship, applicants must: be an enrolled member of federally recognized Pueblo, Nation or Tribe in the United States; be either a high school graduate or a full-time college undergrad student enrolled at an accredited college or university; major in a STEM field; must not have been placed on disciplinary or academic probation at any time; and have maintained a cumulative GPA of at least a 3.00. The number of scholarships awarded each year varies.

The purpose of this award is to stimulate interest in meteorology among college students through the submission of original student papers concerned with some phase of the atmospheric sciences. The student must be enrolled as an undergraduate at the time the paper is written, and no more than two students from any one institution may enter papers in any one contest. The Society encourages applications from women, minorities, and disabled students, traditionally underrepresented in the atmospheric and related oceanic and hydrologic sciences. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or hold permanent resident status.

A $1000 to $4000 scholarship shall be awarded to two or more individuals with spinal cord injuries, spinal cord related disabilities, or the child of that person, for post high for post high school education yearly (once a year). Priority going to direct spinal cord injuries and diseases resulting in paralysis such as spinal tumors, spinal strokes or aneurysms affecting the spinal cord, or spina bifida. Eligibility: - Must have a high school or college GPA of 2.5 or higher. - Must be attending a four-year college, pursuing an associate degree or attending a post graduate program. - Applications will be accepted only from individuals that are in their last semester of high school or currently in college. A written essay of 200 words or less is required.

The Potato Leadership, Education, and Advancement Foundation (Potato LEAF) will award a $10,000 academic scholarship to one graduate-level student conducting research benefiting the potato industry. The winner is selected based on several criteria, including academic achievement, leadership abilities, potato-related areas of graduate study, benefit to the U.S. potato industry/commercial value, extracurricular activities, and grades. Tom Cory was a founding member of the Architectural Precast Association and in his honor, the APA developed the Tom Cory Scholarship. In 2025, the APA will be awarding $5,000 in Tom Cory Scholarships. This award(s) will be made in the form of one (1) $5,000 scholarship or two (2) $2,500 scholarships as determined by the committee. The Father James B. Macelwane Annual Award was established by the American Meteorological Society to honor the late Rev. James B. Macelwane, S.J., a world renowned authority of seismology, who was a geophysicist and Dean of the Institute of Technology, Saint Louis University, until his death in 1956. The recipient of the Father James B. Macelwane award will receive a stipend of $1000 supported by member donations to the AMS Giving Program. Once a year, an award of US $20,000 is given to one eligible woman to help support graduate-level studies in Finance, with 50% of the award being paid directly to the winner and the remaining 50% being paid to the educational institution to directly assist with tuition. 1 scholarship for $2,500 will be awarded twice a year to students pursuing an automotive themed major. One scholarship will be awarded every spring semester, followed by one additional scholarship to be awarded for the fall semester each year.

The Development Fund for Black Students in Science and Technology (DFBSST) is an endowment fund which provides scholarships to African-American undergraduate students who enroll in scientific or technical fields of study at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). DFBSST identifies students through the assistance of Engineering and Science Department deans and professors at pre-selected, predominantly Black colleges and universities. DFBSST requests the deans and faculty members to identify a specified number of students that they would like to be considered for scholarships, and to pass on DFBSST scholarship application forms to these students. The Careers That Work! program was launched in 1999. Each year, every high school in Idaho, Oregon, and Washington (public and private)are given five $1000 tuition scholarships to award to graduating students headed to one of the participating career colleges. Seniors awarded the Careers That Work! by their high school are not restricted to colleges within their home state. That means seniors graduating in Idaho, Oregon or Washington may be awarded the scholarship for attendance at any participating private career college in any of those three states.

Public works operatives work for both the government (cities, counties, and state) and consulting firms. Public works offers a huge variety of jobs such as engineer, surveyor, environmental scientist, GIS specialist, communicator, graphic artist, writer, mechanic, equipment operator, accountant, HR professional, administrative professional, and many others.
