Scholarship Description
The Helen Gee Chin Scholarship Foundation was formed in 2011, in memory of Sifu Calvin Chin’s beloved wife and administrator of the Academy for 15 years, who passed away after a brief battle with cancer. It was an opportunity to take a terrible loss and turn it into something positive.
The Foundation awards college scholarships to encourage academic achievement and motivate individuals to become serious practitioners of Chinese martial arts.
Applicants to the Helen Gee Chin Scholarship Foundation Scholarship Program must:
• Be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident;
• Plan to enroll full-time as an undergraduate at an accredited U.S. four-year college or university for the entire 2025-2026 academic year;
• Have studied one or more of the Chinese Martial Arts – Kung Fu, Wu Shu, or Tai Chi – for a minimum of 5 [five] years; and
• Have a “B” average grade or better
