The American Indian Endowed Scholarship (AIES) helps students with financial need who have close social and cultural ties to an American Indian community in Washington State. Students can use the scholarship at public colleges and many independent colleges in Washington. The program prioritizes upper-division and graduate-level students, but all applicants are considered. Award amounts range from around $500 to $2,000. Ten to 15 students are selected each year to receive the awards. Students may get AIES funding for up to five years, but must reapply each year. Many past recipients have careers in law, medicine, education, business, and resource management. The Thomas J. Bannan Scholarship program for students in Seattle University's College of Science and Engineering awards scholarships to both current students and new transfer students who have junior or senior standing in the fall of the award year. A Bannan Scholarship is a merit award of $6000 per year. Initial award criteria for the scholarship includes having a junior or senior standing by fall of the award year as a continuing student or new transfer student, as well as a GPA of 3.5 or higher for previous college-level work. For juniors, this two-year award is subject to academic performance demonstrated by maintaining a GPA of 3.0 and active participation in the Bannan Scholars Enrichment program. This program includes service, scholarly and social activities, as well as opportunities to compete for one of several Bannan Scholars summer research stipends. The Maxwell Scholarship was established to assist high school seniors from Western Washington in obtaining a higher education. For freshmen starting college during the 2025-26 academic year, scholarships will be $5,000 per year. This award has the potential to be renewed for up to an additional three years of undergraduate education based on reasonable progress toward graduation. The Mary Van Pevenage Memorial Scholarship has been established in 2016 in remembrance of Mary Van Pevenage and her family. Mary died at the young age of 21 years of a malignant brain tumor. Shelia graduated from the Mountainside Hospital School in 1962. She went on to work on the surgical ortho floor at St. Clares Hospital in Denville, New Jersey, retiring forty-one years later. Shelia dedicated herself to helping and serving others. She lost her husband, Bill, in 2010 after forty-eight years of marriage. Shelia cared for him until the end. Shelia had three children, four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. This scholarship seeks to honor the life and legacy of Shelia Matteson Stager by supporting students who are pursuing careers in nursing.

Description: The scholarship is a combination tuition/work grant for a Yakima Valley Community College student planning for an academic degree and/or professional career in an area of health and physical education, athletics, or recreation leadership. Eligibility: The scholarship is available to a high school graduate who plans to enroll at Yakima Valley Community College, and to all students currently enrolled at YVCC who plan on returning for another year. For a number of years the Inland Empire Softball Hall of Fame (I.E.S.H.F.) has offered a $1000 scholarship to a senior girl who participates in high school fastpitch or slowpitch softball. Recently we involved school counselors as well as coaches to help us select the scholarship award winner and that proved to be very successful. We would like each eligible school to "get the word out" to potential candidates. As a retired high school counselor I know each school has different ways of informing students of scholarship opportunities. Please help our committee by informing potential candidates. The student-athlete may have the recommendation letter written by her counselor or coach or a combination of both. The accompanying letter describes Our goal is to have coaches and/or counselors nominate a deserving senior(s). GRD is one of three pathways to high-demand careers in Washington State offered by WSOS. Rumbaugh Historical Oration Contest is open to all students attending 9th through 12th grades in public, parochial or private schools; or home-school students studying at the same grade levels.
