Each year, the interest earned from the Shropshire Scholarship fund is used to provide these awards. The scholarship fund is currently benefited by the Civitan International Fellows Programs and direct contributions. Any Civitan, Campus Civitan, or Junior Civitan who has been a member for 2 years and is enrolled or planning to enroll in a degree or certificate program at an accredited community college, vocational school, four-year college or graduate school is eligible to apply for a Shropshire Scholarship. Candidates are judged by a scholarship selection committee appointed by Civitan International. The decisions of the selection committee are FINAL and NOT subject to review. Civitan International has established the following criteria for awarding points when judging the various aspects of the application. The LeRoy W. Homer Jr. Foundation Flight Training Scholarship provides funding for flight training and ground school. Applicant must have completed or commit to complete a Private Pilot Written Ground School with authorization to take the written exam BEFORE an award will be granted. Please include leadership roles and community service/volunteer involvement as well as sports participation and other organizations you are involved with. We would like to learn about achievements you have earned. You must receive two letters of recommendation on file for your application to be scored. There are three essay prompts where we wish to learn most why you wish to become a pilot and what inspired you to reach for the sky.

Open to high school seniors who are planning to attend community college and students already attending community college. Applicants must be high school seniors or college underclassmen, and must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents. To apply, students must respond to the prompt in 250 words or less.

This scholarship is open to college students who plan to transfer or are currently transferring to another educational institution in pursuit of a bachelor’s degree. The “Mom to Scholar” Scholarship for Mothers is open to mothers who want to begin or resume their journey towards earning a technical or college degree. In order to be eligible for this scholarship you must be a mother over the age of 35 who demonstrates financial need. Applicants must also be U.S. Citizens, Permanent Residents, or have DACA status.

The “Gutsy” Graduate Student Essay Scholarship aims to help lessen the financial burden for a passionate graduate student who is actively looking for ways to fund their higher education journey. The “Gusty Graduate Student” Essay Scholarship is open to incoming or current graduate students. This scholarship opportunity is open to students seeking master’s and doctorate degrees as well as graduate certificates. Applicants must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents. To apply applicants must reply to the prompt in 250 words.

This scholarship is open to undergraduate and graduate students who are currently enrolled in a nursing program. Applicants must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents to be3 eligible for this award. The SWE Past Presidents Scholarship was endowed in 2008. US citizens studying engineering or engineering technology in their sophomore through senior year of undergraduate or graduate students are eligible to apply. The Ada I. Pressman Memorial Scholarship is renewable for five years. All engineering majors are eligible. A one-time preferred amount of $5,000 to two deserving female students who are US citizen attending medical school. The selection process is based on academic merit with a minimum GPA of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale or the equivalent GPA on the scale used by the applicable educational institution. The recipient may reapply for the scholarship each year, but is not guaranteed the award.

The Enid Hall Griswold Memorial Scholarship is awarded to two deserving college juniors or seniors enrolled in an accredited college or university in the United States who is pursuing a major in political science, history, government, or economics. This is a one-time award in the amount of $5,000. Applicants must be citizens of the United States to apply for one of the national scholarships offered by the DAR Scholarship Committee. Applicants must also attend or plan to attend an accredited college or university in the United States. DAR chapter sponsorship is not required, however, applicants may want to reach out to a DAR chapter in their area for help with their applications.

The Ralph M. Knight Chemistry and Engineering Scholarship was established in 2010 by Mrs. Nancy Knight in memory of her husband, Ralph, a chemical engineer. The Knight family wishes to honor his legacy and help others contribute to society as he did. The scholarship is intended for freshman-year tuition assistance at a four-year college or university in the United States for a student majoring in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials and Science Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Solar Energy Engineering, or Structural Engineering. The Ralph M. Knight Chemistry and Engineering Scholarship is a $5,000 award toward the first year of tuition at a four-year college or university in the United States for students declaring one of the specified majors. Applicants must be full-time seniors attending a Catholic high school in the Diocese of Phoenix, registered, practicing Catholics, or US citizens or Permanent Residents. Initial scholarship awards are not based on financial need or high school grade point average. The scholarship will be paid directly to the college/university.

SWE Scholarships support women pursuing ABET-accredited bachelor or graduate student programs in preparation for careers in engineering, engineering technology and computer science in the United States.

The IBM Linda Sanford Women's Technical Advancement Scholarship supports re-entry and non-traditional students studying computer engineering, computer science, engineering technology, and mathematics. This scholarship is renewable for five years. Applicants do not have to be a member of SWE to be eligible for SWE scholarships. Re-entry students don't have to be enrolled full-time. SWE considers academic achievements, participation in extracurricular or volunteer activities, and interest in engineering. The Altmans support numerous efforts to improve education and research for the industry. Altman Plants supplies plant programs to large retailers with point of purchase materials, sales reps to assist with merchandising, a large distribution system that covers the U.S., and offers expertise in growing plants. Each year one student will be awarded this scholarship. It is an annual scholarship, although the same person may receive it a second year should their application score the highest.

This scholarship honors the late Paul Ecke, Jr. of Encinitas, Calif., who made indispensable contributions to the advancement of the global floriculture industry. Among his many interests was concern for the future of floriculture, as influenced by innovative research and educational programs. He recognized that creative scientists and educators are required to lead the floral industry in the 21st century and beyond. Each year, one student will receive $5,000 for two consecutive years, providing that they continue to meet requirements for this duration and submit an annual update.

Dissertation Year Fellowships are intended to encourage historical scholarship of the public career of Harry S. Truman or the Truman era. This fellowship is intended to free a doctoral student from teaching or other employment to facilitate completion of his or her dissertation. Preference will be given to projects based on extensive research at the Truman Library, but since the research is presumed to be complete, there is no requirement of residence at the Library during the fellowship year. A maximum of two $20,000 grants are given annually; awards are payable to the student in two installments, September and January. Completed applications should be submitted to the Committee no later than February 1. The Committee’s funding decision will be announced by the first week of April. The Committee reserves the right to withhold the making of any award if the quality of the applications does not justify it.

Open to undergraduates and graduate students up to the masters degree level with preference given to undergraduate students. Eligibility is open to U.S. Citizens and permanent residents who are enrolled in a U.S. - based institution. This scholarship provides $3500 annually to one student for summer study in the field. Study may be for credit or beyond the regular course of study. The specific course of study and the location are chosen by the student. Selection Members of the GCA Scholarship Committee and professionals knowledgeable in field botany will select awardees.

Purpose To encourage the development of research, documentation, and teaching skills in the field of horticulture. Education For undergraduate, graduate, advanced degree candidates, or non-degree seeking students above the high school level. Eligibility Open to college undergraduates, graduate students, and advanced degree candidates, or non-degree-seeking applicants above the high school level. Open to U.S. Citizens and permanent residents who are currently and actively enrolled in a U.S.-based institution. Provisions Funds one or more scholarships annually at $3,000 to support study at an accredited college, university, or major botanic garden or arboretum. Projects may include but are not restricted to plant propagation, photographic documentation of studies and research projects, the acquisition of skills for working with horticulture collections, and research in horticulture in the broadest sense.

Purpose To further the study of public horticulture through experiential learning that takes place at a recognized public garden, botanic garden, arboretum, or other closely aligned public horticulture institution within the United States. Education Open to students enrolled in a graduate-level university program to study public horticulture. Student must confirm ability to conduct research or otherwise utilize facility where study will be undertaken. Eligibility Eligibility is open to U.S. Citizens and permanent residents who are enrolled in a U.S.-based institution. Provisions Funds one or more students annually at $5,000 for practical research and training at a recognized public garden, botanic garden, arboretum, or other institution directly engaged with connecting people, plants, and gardening within the United States. Monte Mitchell Scholarship More than $1,500 This scholarship honors Monte Mitchell’s service of more than 40 years to the Aircraft Electronics Association and the general aviation industry. Mitchell first served as the AEA executive director and later as president of the association from 1977 to 1996. Under Mitchell’s leadership, the AEA Educational Foundation was created in 1990 to enhance, promote and secure the future of aviation and the AEA by furthering the education of students, technicians and members of the AEA. It will be awarded to an AEA member employee. The scholarship will cover a full AEA Convention registration along with travel and hotel expenses. The award recognizes an AEA member employee for their exemplary job performance and pursuit of professional development. This is an annual award to be given prior to the AEA International Convention and Trade Show. APPLICATION PROCEDURES A complete application will consist of the following: 1. Letter of recommendation from current employer. 2. A brief essay written by the applicant outlining how he or she would benefit in their job by attending the 65th AEA International Convention and Trade Show.

Each year, Vertical Flight Foundation (VFF) scholarships are awarded to college students enrolled in programs related to vertical lift engineering and demonstrating an interest in pursuing careers related to vertical flight technology. The Foundation scholarship awards are made possible solely by tax deductible donations that have been established and contribute to an endowment. The VFF scholarships are solely merit-based and the value of the scholarships range from $3,000 up to $6,000 (USD). The program is open to full-time students attending a university or college located anywhere in the world and regardless of a student's nationality. To be eligible for a scholarship: - Students enrolled in programs related to vertical lift engineering and who show interest in pursuing a career in vertical flight technology. - A student does not need to be a member of the Vertical Flight Society, but we encourage you to explore the many benefits student membership can provide. - High school students are not eligible. - All applicants must be full-time students at the time of application (February). In addition, the student must be registered in the relevant engineering degree program at least one (1) academic term after the scholarship awards, which are presented at the Society's Annual Forum in May. - Technical disciplines related to complex aeronautics engineering or aviation systems, even if not considered vertical lift engineering, will receive equal consideration. - A student can receive an award once as an Undergraduate, once as a Master's student, and once as a Graduate student.

“The John F. and Anna Lee Stacey Scholarship Fund,” is open to United States citizens, both men and women, single or married, irrespective of race, creed, or color. The age limit is between 18 and 35 years. Award amounts vary annually and range from $500 to $5,000 per recipient. At the discretion of the Committee, these may be awarded in quarterly installments. The online application will ask the applicant to outline their ambitions and plans as well as submit no more than 6 examples of their paintings/drawings for judging. Below are suggested subject categories. Purpose: To provide scholarships to registered nurses committed to oncology nursing and pursuing a master’s degree in a relevant field. Scholarship: Mater's scholarships are awarded at $5,000 each. John and Muriel Landis Scholarships are awarded to undergraduate and graduate students who have greater than average financial need. Consideration is given to conditions or experiences that render the student disadvantaged (English as a Second Language, physical handicap, lack of undergraduate preparation, etc.). A Kettering graduate, Dan enjoyed a 43-year automotive engineering career at General Motors where he served as Vice President of Global Strategic Alliances. A longtime SAE member, Dan is an SAE Fellow who served on the SAE Foundation Board of Trustees, the SAE International Board of Directors and is the former SAE International President. In 2011, Dan was elected to the National Academy of Engineering - one of the highest honors an engineer can receive.

The Donald and Barbara Mozley Scholarship provides financial support for students pursuing an engineering degree at an ABET-accredited college or university. Don Mozley was a renowned broadcast journalist who spent 62 years working for CBS Radio and KCBS/74 in San Francisco. Hired by CBS in 1942, Don covered such historic events as WWII, the atomic bomb tests at Bikini the presidential campaigns of Nixon and Eisenhower, and the Senate race of Robert Taft. He received the Excellence in Journalism Award from the Society of Professional Journalists' Northern California Chapter in recognition of his distinguished broadcasting career.

In an effort to get students committed to the cause of deleting cyberbullying, we are offering the Delete Cyberbullying Social Media Scholarship for high school and college students to help cover educational expenses. We want to raise awareness that much of cyberbullying takes place on social media. Those who spend more time on social media are more likely to be cyberbullied so it's important for students to be aware of the signs of cyberbullying. The Geiger Scholarship offers financial support for students interested in expanding their educational horizons through off-island enrichment and travel experiences, including summer camp, semester study abroad, and gap year programs. The Gordon Hay Scholarship Fund is a merit-based scholarship established in memory of Gordon Hay, an organizational development professional, who was passionate about transformational change through authentic engagement of people’s hearts and minds in the strategic work of business. He believed passion and fire from within fueled exceptional results. Each year the Gordon Hay Scholarship Committee will select up to two exceptional students to receive a one-time award in the amount of up to $10,000.

My dad was a welder for much of his life and was passionate about the skilled trades. He was also concerned about the gap in the need for skilled tradespeople and the number of people pursuing this career path. In honor of my dad, we have established the Uniball's Skilled Trades Scholarship. With a focus on helping the next generation of welders pay for trade schooling, we will also consider all applicants pursuing a skilled trade such as electricians, plumbers, and more. The ideal applicant for this scholarship: Will be or is going to a trade school – welding, electrician, plumbing, etc. Has overcome some personal adversity. Is a high school senior or currently at a trade school.

The Women at Microsoft Scholarship supports graduating high school seniors who identify as women, non-binary, gender fluid, or transgender women, and who are pursuing undergraduate studies in technology, engineering, math, or computer science. This scholarship aims to empower future leaders in STEM fields by providing financial assistance to students with strong academic performance, leadership, and community involvement.

Her infectious smile and determination inspired those around her, leading to the initiation of this scholarship. The Jamie Anderson Scholarship aims to support and encourage young individuals who, like Jamie, have a desire to pursue a college degree despite facing difficult circumstances. Dylan’s Journey Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to one student with Neurofibromatosis (NF) and/or a learning disability of any variety. High school, undergraduate, and graduate school students are eligible to apply. To apply, either submit a video or write an essay that tells about your experience with NF or your learning disability, your motivation for pursuing higher education, and why you feel you are a good candidate for this scholarship.

This scholarship aims to honor the life of Adam Montes by supporting underrepresented students on the road to higher education. Any LGBTQ+ high school student who is an underrepresented minority and will be a first-generation college student may apply for this scholarship, but those interested in pursuing education degrees are preferred.

This scholarship seeks to honor the memory of Albert Howie by supporting students who are pursuing higher education. Any high school senior, high school graduate, or undergraduate student who is attending Del Mar College in Texas or will be attending in the fall may apply for this scholarship opportunity. However, applicants who are pursuing paramedic certification are preferred.

As one small way to help the families of first responders, the A Heroes Family Scholarship exists to provide financial support for a current or former student who has lost a parent/guardian or spouse to an on-duty tragedy of a first responder. This includes those in law enforcement, fire, or the military. The scholarship is open to students at any education level, above and including, high school seniors. Those pursuing education at a 2 or 4-year college/university, graduate school, a professional certificate program, or a trade or vocational school are all welcome to apply.

MASWE = Men’s Auxiliary Society of Women Engineers MASWE was formed in 1968 by the husbands, brothers, fathers and colleagues who believed that engineering is a viable career choice for women and the cause needed support. MASWE is a tribute to men who supported women in engineering. It provides financial assistance to female students pursuing ABET-accredited undergraduate or graduate programs in engineering, engineering technology, or related fields. The scholarship aims to empower women in STEM and recognizes their potential in engineering.

Lieba’s Legacy Scholarship is intended to further Lieba Joran’s mission of nurturing kindness, pursuing justice and creating harmony in society. Eligible to apply are undergraduate students with a min. 3.5 GPA looking to pursue a career in psychology or social work. Preference will be given to homeschooled students. To apply, write an essay explaining how your career goals will benefit traditionally misunderstood, gifted children like Lieba.

This scholarship aims to honor Jimmy Cardenas by supporting undergraduate students in Texas with similar aspirations to also serve their community. Students who are building a better community through personal leadership activities may apply, while those currently enrolled in a college or university criminal justice degree program are preferred. The Colegrave Seabrook Foundation International Scholarship operates in cooperation with the David Colegrave Foundation in London, England. Each year there will be an exchange of students between the U.S. and Europe, alternating between the two countries. Scholarship awards of $4,500 will be made.
