Lando LaKeith Young was a beloved friend who passed away far too soon on January 9th, 2025. Lando was a coach and math teacher who changed the lives of over 30,000 kids over the course of his career. Lando was a kinesiology major at Stephen F. The Springfield Research Fund Dissertation Fellowship supports graduate students at any stage of their dissertation who are interested in researching contemporary LGBTQIA+ issues in an effort to dispel stereotypes and other negative information that leads to prejudice and discrimination. The Development Fund for Black Students in Science and Technology (DFBSST) is an endowment fund which provides scholarships to African-American undergraduate students who enroll in scientific or technical fields of study at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). DFBSST identifies students through the assistance of Engineering and Science Department deans and professors at pre-selected, predominantly Black colleges and universities. DFBSST requests the deans and faculty members to identify a specified number of students that they would like to be considered for scholarships, and to pass on DFBSST scholarship application forms to these students. Eligibility Criteria To be eligible for scholarships offered by DFBSST, all applicants must meet the following criteria: - African-American, undergraduate student majoring (or intending to major) in a technical field of study (i.e., engineering, math, science, etc.), - Be enrolled (or identify his or her intention to enroll) at one of the predominantly Black colleges or universities listed below, and - Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.

The Careers That Work! program was launched in 1999. Each year, every high school in Idaho, Oregon, and Washington (public and private)are given five $1000 tuition scholarships to award to graduating students headed to one of the participating career colleges. Seniors awarded the Careers That Work! by their high school are not restricted to colleges within their home state. That means seniors graduating in Idaho, Oregon or Washington may be awarded the scholarship for attendance at any participating private career college in any of those three states.

The Nissin Foods USA Good Neighbor Scholarship supports high school seniors who demonstrate academic achievement, community involvement, and leadership potential. This scholarship is designed to assist students pursuing higher education who aspire to make a positive impact, whether through careers in the public or private sector or across a wide range of professional fields. To be considered for the Good Neighbor Scholarship, applicants must: - Be a permanent resident of Los Angeles County (CA), Lancaster County (PA), or Greenville County (SC). - Submit an official high school transcript showing a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. - Provide one letter of recommendation from a teacher, counselor, employer, or community leader. - Demonstrate academic performance, leadership potential, and participation in extracurricular and/or community service activities.

To be eligible for the WIA Foundation Scholarship, an applicant must be interested in pursuing a career in the aerospace field and be a rising junior or senior working towards a bachelor’s degree in engineering, math or science. An applicant must have completed at least two and a half academic years of full-time college work at the time of application and must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university in the United States or its territories, and plan to be enrolled in the subsequent academic year. Each applicant must have a college grade point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Applicants must identify as female and be a U.S. citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident. African Americans represent about 11% of the US population, but only around 4% of doctors. So in addition to supporting underserved communities, it's important that we increase representation in medical schools, pharmacy schools, dental schools, and the healthcare field more broadly. Healthcare professionals dedicate their lives to public service and providing for local communities through their practice, but many prospective medical professionals don’t have the opportunity to graduate with a degree debt-free. The MedLuxe Representation Matters Scholarship is designed to support students dedicated to providing equitable healthcare opportunities for underrepresented minorities and low-income communities across the country. Philippe Forton was a loving and compassionate husband and father. After receiving a heart transplant in 2016, he had many interactions with medical personnel. Philippe passed away in 2022, but having compassionate nurses by his side made a world of difference for him.
