The American Indian Endowed Scholarship (AIES) helps students with financial need who have close social and cultural ties to an American Indian community in Washington State. Students can use the scholarship at public colleges and many independent colleges in Washington. The program prioritizes upper-division and graduate-level students, but all applicants are considered. Award amounts range from around $500 to $2,000. Ten to 15 students are selected each year to receive the awards. Students may get AIES funding for up to five years, but must reapply each year. Many past recipients have careers in law, medicine, education, business, and resource management. The Maxwell Scholarship was established to assist high school seniors from Western Washington in obtaining a higher education. For freshmen starting college during the 2025-26 academic year, scholarships will be $5,000 per year. The Mary Van Pevenage Memorial Scholarship has been established in 2016 in remembrance of Mary Van Pevenage and her family. Mary died at the young age of 21 years of a malignant brain tumor. Shelia graduated from the Mountainside Hospital School in 1962. She went on to work on the surgical ortho floor at St. Clares Hospital in Denville, New Jersey, retiring forty-one years later. Shelia dedicated herself to helping and serving others. She lost her husband, Bill, in 2010 after forty-eight years of marriage. Shelia cared for him until the end. Shelia had three children, four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. This scholarship seeks to honor the life and legacy of Shelia Matteson Stager by supporting students who are pursuing careers in nursing.

Description: The scholarship is a combination tuition/work grant for a Yakima Valley Community College student planning for an academic degree and/or professional career in an area of health and physical education, athletics, or recreation leadership. Eligibility: The scholarship is available to a high school graduate who plans to enroll at Yakima Valley Community College, and to all students currently enrolled at YVCC who plan on returning for another year. Amount: The amount of the scholarship for each school year (three quarters) will be a total annual grant up to $2400, divided equally each quarter. For a number of years the Inland Empire Softball Hall of Fame (I.E.S.H.F.) has offered a $1000 scholarship to a senior girl who participates in high school fastpitch or slowpitch softball. Recently we involved school counselors as well as coaches to help us select the scholarship award winner and that proved to be very successful. We would like each eligible school to "get the word out" to potential candidates. As a retired high school counselor I know each school has different ways of informing students of scholarship opportunities. Please help our committee by informing potential candidates. The student-athlete may have the recommendation letter written by her counselor or coach or a combination of both. The accompanying letter describes Our goal is to have coaches and/or counselors nominate a deserving senior(s). The candidate is not necessarily the team "star" or the one with the best stats but must meet the following criteria: 1. She must be an accomplished player. 2. The Maude and Alexander Hadden Scholarship is awarded to high school seniors with demonstrated financial need, for up to four years of college undergraduate study. Hadden Scholars must be U.S. citizens who plan to attend a four-year accredited college or university in the United States. In awarding Hadden Scholarships, Youth Foundation considers scholastic achievement, character, leadership, volunteerism, and financial need*. In awarding Hadden Scholarships, Youth Foundation considers scholastic achievement, character, leadership, volunteerism, and financial need*. The Joseph S. Rumbaugh Historical Oration Contest is open to all students attending 9th through 12th grades in public, parochial or private schools; or home-school students studying at the same grade levels. The preliminary rounds of the contest begin at the local chapter level; students have the opportunity to advance to the state or national levels where scholarships and cash prizes are awarded. It is our intent that the contest will continue to expand on all levels and bring the voices of our young patriots to greater light across our entire nation. Participants must write an original oration of not less than five minutes, or more than six minutes. The oration must be delivered from memory and without the use of notes or any kind of props. The subject of the oration shall deal with an event, a personality, or a document pertaining to the Revolutionary War with a mention of our nation’s 250th anniversary celebration. It is essential that each oration show the relationship it bears to America today. Evidence of historical research and creative presentation are also important. The oration will be judged based upon its composition, delivery, significance, historical accuracy, and relevance to our 250th anniversary. The ABBVIE CF SCHOLARSHIP provides financial assistance toward higher education for exceptional students living with Cystic Fibrosis. Applicants must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents.
