The scholarship is open to all industry employees, their spouses, and children in the Mid-America Show region. To honor the legacy of our friend and fellow FIBCA member for over 30 years, an annual $5,000 scholarship has been established. The Cindy Finley Memorial Scholarship (CFMS) to Support Women in the Packaging Industry will be awarded for the upcoming school year to a woman looking to pursue a career in the packaging industry. The JROTC has over 550,000 students participating across the country, preparing students for life after graduation even if they don’t opt to go into military service. JROTC participants have higher graduation rates and GPAs and can benefit from ROTC scholarships if they pursue college. Unfortunately, fields like aerospace are notoriously difficult for students to access. Many young people, especially women and minorities, aren’t encouraged to pursue STEM fields or may not have access to advanced science classes, clubs, or programs due to socioeconomic status. This scholarship aims to support students who are interested in and working towards a career in the aerospace industry, with an emphasis on those who contribute to the diversity of the industry. Any undergraduate or graduate student at Portland State University who is interested in the aerospace industry may apply for this scholarship opportunity.

The American Indian Medical Scholarship (AIMS) gives students of American Indian, Alaskan Native, and Hawaiian Native descent the opportunity to pursue careers in nursing, healthcare, and health education. The scholarship is specifically designed to assist students who, following graduation, plan to work on reservations or in hospitals that serve Native populations with the goal of improving healthcare within those communities. The scholarship recipient will be granted $1,500 each semester, so long as they remain in good academic standing. Scholarship award use is restricted to tuition and other specific academic expenses. When marginalized communities don’t have adequate representation, the care they receive can suffer due to biases and stereotypes. As a result, there is a disparity in care which can lead to increased pain, longer waiting times, and even the loss of life. This scholarship aims to increase the representation of historically underrepresented populations in leadership by supporting students in their endeavors to become physical therapists. Any minority graduate student may apply for this scholarship if they’re attending or applying for physical therapy or physical therapy assistant school.

The Martin Honors Scholarship is designed for those who are already in the transfer process, or are applying for admission to UW Seattle within the next 2 quarters. Students apply for this scholarship during spring (the application is generally available May-July), either having already been admitted to UW Seattle for spring or summer quarters, or anticipating admission for fall or winter quarter of the coming academic year.
