About the International Documentary Photography Award The International Documentary Photography Award encourages personal involvement in social issues and promotes socially conscious documentary photography. It is open to all fully-matriculated undergraduate and graduate students, regardless of degree major, gender, ethnic background, or country of residence. NOTE: No high school submissions. The subject matter is entirely the choice of the student. However, it should clearly document a person, group of people, place, event, or happening of social relevance. Submitted images should be arranged and presented to clearly tell the story of what is being documented. The project does not have to be about people. Environmental issues, including land use or misuse, urban or rural issues, global or local events, will all be considered. The key is to indicate through your photographs that you are involved and can communicate your feelings about the subject you are documenting. The medium of capture is not important. Purpose We know our scholarship recipients face many barriers, such as access to housing, food, and transportation. COVID-19 and its effects have only exacerbated these needs; many students depended on campus resources such as dormitories, food pantries, and mental health services that they are currently unable to access. The Student Assistance Fund will provide one-time cash assistance to eligible students to assist with needs that would otherwise hinder them from completing their academic program. Amount & Use of Funds Students may request and be awarded up to $500 per application. Students may receive support once per year, and apply a maximum of four times or the number of years remaining in their academic program, whichever is greater. About Washington College Grant (WA Grant) WA Grant provides need-based financial aid to income-eligible resident students pursuing education beyond high school. Apprentices in non–campus-based apprenticeship programs are encouraged to check with their program sponsor to ensure their participation in WA Grant for Apprenticeship. After being admitted, all transfer students are required to send final transcripts to MSU. The following transfer scholarships will be awarded based on transcripts submitted to MSU by: May 31: for students starting fall semester December 31: for students starting spring semester Any transcripts submitted after these dates will not be considered when awarding transfer scholarships. Transfer scholarships are not awarded for students starting in the summer semester. This award of $1,500 or $2,500 annually goes to students transferring to MSU with a minimum of 28 transfer hours from a regionally accredited institution and a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA. Students receiving a Spartan Transfer Scholarship may also be eligible for the Associate Achievement Award and other MSU scholarship awards, up to cost of attendance. All admitted transfer students will automatically be considered for this award after sending their final transcripts to MSU. No additional applications are required.

The Educator Retooling Conditional Scholarship supports Washington State certified educators looking to add a shortage area endorsement to their certificate. Participants are awarded up to $3,000 per endorsement add-on. Participants must fulfill their service obligation to avoid paying back the award. Applications may be submitted on a rolling basis (there is no deadline.) Minimum Qualifications – Educator Retooling Conditional Scholarship Applicants must: Hold a current Washington teacher certificate (Residency, Professional, or Continuing) or an expired Washington teacher certificate issued after 2005. Pursue an additional endorsement in a shortage area. Take one of the following pathways to add the endorsement that must be completed in the equivalent of one full-time academic year: Complete an endorsement test only. Complete an add-on endorsement program at a college or university (and test). Attend an educator preparation program, approved by WSAC, to participate in state financial aid. The Pipeline for Paraeducators Conditional Scholarship is designed to support paraeducators and Recruiting Washington Teachers alumni who wish to become teachers by providing financial aid for the completion of an Associate of Arts degree. Participants are eligible to receive a Pipeline for Paraeducators Conditional Scholarship for up to four academic years. Scholarship award amounts may vary depending upon financial need and funds available. The Pipeline for Paraeducators award amount is up to $4,000 per academic year. Participants are expected to continue to earn their certification and fulfill a teaching service obligation in exchange for receiving the scholarship. Participants must currently be enrolled to receive an award. Applications may be submitted on a rolling basis (there is no deadline.) Applicants must: Not have earned a college degree. Provide documentation from their school district of one year of successful student interaction and leadership as a classified instructional employee or completion of two years of a Recruiting Washington Teachers program. The WUE Tuition Rate is available to all undergraduate students who are residents of the WUE region and are pursuing a degree at UAF. The WUE Tuition Rate is less than half the cost of nonresident tuition, and students enrolling full-time can save over $13,500 per year. The WUE courses cost 150% of the cost of resident tuition, a savings of $421/credit. The Transition to Teaching Scholarship provides students interested in pursuing a career in education the opportunity to earn a one-time, non-renewable scholarship of up to $10,000. In exchange, students agree to teach full-time for five years at an eligible Indiana school or repay the corresponding, prorated amount of the scholarship. The Adult Student Grant is specifically designed to meet the unique needs of working adults starting or completing an associate degree, bachelor's degree or certificate by providing a grant up to $2,000 for the academic year. Sport Clips supports future professionals with education, contests, and scholarships, fostering an environment of continuous development and success for both your career and personal goals. Sport Clips is awarding up to 10 students who are enrolled in a Barber or Cosmetology School program, a $5,000 scholarship. A selection committee will review all eligible applications. The Alice Madden Barton Scholarship Program: A Great Clips Cosmetology School Scholarship for current students, high school students, and anyone interested in cosmetology or barbering as a career, can apply for a scholarship through the Alice Madden Barton Scholarship program. These scholarships can be used at any cosmetology or barbering school. The scholarships are given out twice a year in January and July to applicants who can demonstrate a passion for the craft and dedication to developing their skills. he OppU Achievers Scholarship celebrates achievement in its many forms and honors those who create opportunity for themselves and others. Founded in 2016, the scholarship provides $2,500 for current or future education costs. Scholarship selections are made four times a year. Annually, the OppU Achievers Scholarship awards a total of $10,000 to students who have demonstrated outstanding achievement.

All employees have access to a $28,000 scholarship benefit as soon as they pass their first skills test. This training takes the average employee 12 weeks, with some completing their training in as little as six weeks. Employees can use this scholarship for any college, vocational or self-improvement program. In order to be eligible for the scholarship benefit, an employee must continue to work a minimum of 20 hours per week throughout the duration of the program.

To support trade students pursuing a career in STEM, the Appalachian Region Vocational Scholarship will support students in Kentucky, Virginia, and West Virginia as they pursue their passions. Industry jobs cannot be overlooked, so this scholarship will encourage students to take their own path toward a trade school education. Students from Kentucky, West Virginia, and Virginia are eligible to apply if they are going to trade school, or a traditional 2 or 4 year college for a STEM career, with a focus on engineering. The Susan E. Stutz McDonald Scholarship was established in 2017 by the Susan E. Stutz-McDonald Scholarship Foundation. SWE members in their graduate studies pursuing an engineering degree focused on water/wastewater engineering with undergraduate degrees in chemical, civil or environmental engineering focused on water/wastewater engineering are eligible to apply. Meredith was born in Nebraska in 1908. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Lincoln, Nebraska in 1925. She was the first woman to graduate with a BS in Civil Engineering from the University of Nebraska in 1929 and a Master of Civil Engineering in 1931. She was a member of Delta Zeta and was elected to two honorary fraternities: Pi Mu Epsilon and Sigma Xi. Meredith left a significant bequest to SWE to fund scholarships. Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors are eligible to apply and the scholarships are renewable for 2 additional years.

BK (as she was always known in SWE) was born on the 4th of July, 1923 in Kansas City, Missouri and passed away in 1989. She received a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Physics from University of Kansas. Throughout her career, she continued her education by taking numerous specialty courses. BK had a large extended family that she cherished. She had a great sense of humor and a special bumper sticker on her car: “Women are leaders, you are following one”

Lydia joined SWE in 1955 as a member of the Pacific Northwest Section and later became a Senior Life Member of SWE and was elected to Fellow grade in 1984. She was chair of the 1962 National Convention in Seattle (the first four-day convention) and served in many other national positions. Lydia was elected as national SWE President for 1968-69. One goal was to visit as many student sections as she could to provide guidance. Lydia participated in at least the first nine International Conventions of Women Engineers and Scientists. Lydia left a bequest to the SWE Scholarship Fund. The Trustees created this scholarship for graduate students. The scholarship is renewable for an additional 4 years.

Yvonne Claeys Brill (1924-2013) was a pioneering propulsion engineer and tireless advocate for women in the engineering profession. Yvonne was married to William F. Brill from 1951 until his death in 2010. They are survived by three children and four grandchildren, all of whom have pursued careers in science and engineering. Additionally, six extended family members followed this pathway. Originally named “The Brill Family Scholarship” to recognize all the technical talent in our family, we have chosen to rename this scholarship to honor Yvonne, who was an inspiration to us all.

The Wanda Munn Scholarship was endowed by the Eastern Washington Section in 2011. Reentry and nontraditional students in any engineering related major is eligible to apply. Geographical preference is giving to students who live in Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington.

Susan was the backbone and leader of the New York Section for many years. She was an active, reliable grass-roots volunteer. SWE had recently hosted a Regional Conference in New York City and Susan Miszkowicz was the Conference Chair. The theme was “Gearing Up for the New Millennium: Business & Leadership Skills for a Diverse Workforce.” She had served as Vice President of the New York Section, and rose to the position of President before SWE lost her at the age of 38 in the attacks on the World Trade Center. Susan was active in several other organizations such as American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). She served SWE and ASME in many capacities, and was also an active volunteer with a number of other organizations, including the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York City and several animal rescue groups. The scholarship endowment was funded in 2002 by the New York Section and friends in SWE. It honors all the victims.

The Elizabeth Schalk Memorial Scholarship will not only help fund a student's education, but will also memorialize Elizabeth Schalk, who suffered from mental illness throughout her life. The Turkish Coalition of America (TCA) Study Abroad Scholarship Program for American Minority Students offers scholarships to undergraduate and graduate students of African American, Hispanic American, and Native American descent to study in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Electrochemical Society has been offering summer fellowships since early 1928. These awards were established to assist students during the summer months, June through September, in the pursuit of work in a field of interest to ECS. In order to qualify for these fellowships, one must be enrolled in a college or university in addition to being a member of ECS. Up to four recipients will be selected annually to receive up to $5,000! A brief resume or abstract of 100-150 words concerning work performed shall be submitted tothe Society by the recipient at the end of the award period, suitable for publication in The Electrochemical Society Interface.

Purpose To promote the study of tropical horticulture and landscape architecture. Education For graduate students and undergraduates Eligibility Open to U.S. Citizens and permanent residents who are currently and actively enrolled in a U.S.-based institution. Due to IRS restrictions, the GCA is unable to fund awards for international applicants. Travel must commence within 12 months of the award. Provisions Provides $5,000 to a well-qualified graduate student or undergraduate student specializing in tropical horticulture, botany, or landscape architecture for the purpose of studying abroad at botanical institutions. Scholarship funds the international study of tropical horticulture or landscape architecture. This does not mean that the scholar’s study needs to take place in a tropical climate. The scholar could study in temperate regions as long as the destination is international. Application Guidelines: 1) A 1-page description of your research endeavors and how the scholarship will support these endeavors. 2) A proposed itinerary along with any potential or confirmed collaborating institutions for your international study of tropical horticulture or architecture. 3) A 1-page budget for the travel and study proposed. 4) A 1-page CV 5)School transcripts (Colleges and universities, highschool transcripts not needed) 6)Two letters of recommendation.

Academic scholarships are monetary awards used to support CAP Cadets pursuing their undergraduate or graduate education. Monies are to be used for tuition, books, or room and board at any post-secondary school (i.e: college, university, vocational-technical school, etc.). Scholarship recipients must ensure that the money is used responsibly. Applicants may pursue any course of study. This year, scholarships will be made in varying amounts from $1,000 to $2,500. All applicants must meet basic eligibility requirements including: - Must have earned Billy Mitchell Award or higher - Must be a high school senior, high school graduate, or hold a GED. - Must be accepted to a college/school or provide proof that an application has been made. - Must attend a post-secondary school or college - Must be enrolled in a course of study during the academic year for which the scholarship is awarded. - Must submit at least one but not more than three letters of recommendation written by someone who is familiar with the cadets' accomplishments in CAP. - Must submit a resume, detailing any academic, community or CAP activities.

Applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria: - be a self-identifying woman, and at least 25 years old at time of application deadline; - be a national of a country listed on the MMEG country eligibility list (except for the Trinity Washington University Program); - be registered (not just accepted or enrolled) at an accredited in-person academic institution and program when submitting their application (exclusively online programs are ineligible); - plan to be enrolled for at least one full academic semester (half-year term) after award of the MMEG grant; - plan to graduate no later than three years after the award of the MMEG grant; - not be related to a World Bank Group, International Monetary Fund, or Inter-American Development Bank staff member, spouse, retiree, or MMEG Board member. - complete an application and (for finalists) be prepared to be interviewed in English for South Africa, US-Canada, and Trinity Washington University programs, in Spanish for the LAC Program, and in French for the France Program. In addition to the general eligibility criteria, applicants must: - already be enrolled as a full-time student, with relevant and valid student visa in national passport (Form I-20 may be submitted); - plan to continue studying full-time for at least one academic semester (half year) following the award of the MMEG grant in April; - plan to graduate no later than three years following the award of the MMEG grant; - not hold US citizenship or permanent residency (green card) or Canadian citizenship or Canadian landed immigrant status.

This scholarship is designed to assist eligible students in their pursuit of an academic degree in anthropology, or a clearly related degree program/curriculum, or interdisciplinary degree that includes anthropology as a significant component. Students should have an interest in the anthropology of the north. The scholarship will be used to help underwrite a program consisting of at least eight academic credits. If fewer credits are taken, it is required that the student be engaged in full-time work toward a degree. Funds can be used for tuition, fees, books, or other expenses related to the pursuit of a degree. Scholarships are not intended to underwrite part-time studies or to cover expenses of doing fieldwork not directly connected with academic courses. Applicants must be currently enrolled in a graduate program and be a member of the Alaska Anthropological Association (i.e., current year dues must be paid at or before time of application). The scholarship may be used at any appropriate institution. Scholarship funds must be expended within one year of being granted and may not be used retroactively. The primary evaluation criterion will be evidence of promise in and commitment to the field of anthropology. Note that awards are not made every year, and are dependent on the number and quality of submissions.
