The Korum Family Arts Scholarship Competition is intended to promote appreciation for the arts, to encourage young artists in the pursuit of their artistic and educational growth, and to showcase the uniqueness of Washington State. Scholarships will be awarded to the top three finishers in the competition (first place: $2,500, second place: $1,500, third place: $1,000) and are paid directly to the recipient’s college or university to be used toward tuition or books within 24 months of award. The winning piece (1st place) will be retained by the Foundation and auctioned at the annual Washington State Fair Foundation Round Up Auction; it will not be returned to the student. John Randolph Foundation Eligibility: Students entering professional health occupations in specific localities in Virginia Description: The scholarship goes to students who demonstrate financial need and have at least a 3.0 GPA. The type of healthcare program a student must attend to qualify is very broad as long, as it leads to a health-related occupation.

This scholarship is awarded once a year to one student. A candidate for this scholarship must be enrolled full time at a 2- or 4- year college or university. Applicants must be Native Americans and proof of American Indian blood is required by letter or proof papers. Students must demonstrate financial need, academic achievement, and have a 3.25 GPA or higher. A recipient may reapply for this scholarship and be considered along with other members of the applicant pool. The amount of scholarship is based on total return of the endowment, and may vary year to year.

This scholarship honors the late Paul Ecke, Jr. of Encinitas, Calif., who made indispensable contributions to the advancement of the global floriculture industry. Among his many interests was concern for the future of floriculture, as influenced by innovative research and educational programs. He recognized that creative scientists and educators are required to lead the floral industry in the 21st century and beyond. Each year, one student will receive $5,000 for two consecutive years, providing that they continue to meet requirements for this duration and submit an annual update.

Dissertation Year Fellowships are intended to encourage historical scholarship of the public career of Harry S. Truman or the Truman era. This fellowship is intended to free a doctoral student from teaching or other employment to facilitate completion of his or her dissertation. Preference will be given to projects based on extensive research at the Truman Library, but since the research is presumed to be complete, there is no requirement of residence at the Library during the fellowship year. A maximum of two $20,000 grants are given annually; awards are payable to the student in two installments, September and January. Monte Mitchell Scholarship More than $1,500 This scholarship honors Monte Mitchell’s service of more than 40 years to the Aircraft Electronics Association and the general aviation industry. Mitchell first served as the AEA executive director and later as president of the association from 1977 to 1996. Under Mitchell’s leadership, the AEA Educational Foundation was created in 1990 to enhance, promote and secure the future of aviation and the AEA by furthering the education of students, technicians and members of the AEA. It will be awarded to an AEA member employee. The scholarship will cover a full AEA Convention registration along with travel and hotel expenses. The award recognizes an AEA member employee for their exemplary job performance and pursuit of professional development. This is an annual award to be given prior to the AEA International Convention and Trade Show. APPLICATION PROCEDURES A complete application will consist of the following: 1. Each year, Vertical Flight Foundation (VFF) scholarships are awarded to college students enrolled in programs related to vertical lift engineering and demonstrating an interest in pursuing careers related to vertical flight technology. The Foundation scholarship awards are made possible solely by tax deductible donations that have been established and contribute to an endowment. The VFF scholarships are solely merit-based and the value of the scholarships range from $3,000 up to $6,000 (USD). The program is open to full-time students attending a university or college located anywhere in the world and regardless of a student's nationality. The Betty Harlan Memorial Art Scholarship provides educational resources to students pursuing a degree in the visual arts. Applicants must answer the essay prompt: "Considering the background and criteria of this scholarship, why are you the best candidate? Discuss your involvement in organizations and activities that focus on the visual arts." This scholarship has certain eligibility requirements. Applicants must: Be a graduating senior from a public or private high school; Reside in Boone, Ogle, or Winnebago County; Plan to pursue a degree in Visual Arts, Visual Art Education, or Visual Art History; Have a GPA of at least 2.75/4.0; and Show involvement in organizations and activities that focus on the visual arts. Dollar amounts for this scholarship will vary, so there is not a set, specified amount.

The Jane Buttrey Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a humanities and social science major who has at least a GPA of a 3.0 and has demonstrated financial need. This scholarship is open to both incoming students and current undergraduate students. This scholarship is funded by a generous grant from the Jane Buttrey Memorial Trust. Scholarship amounts vary, but it is no less than $500. There is not a speicifed deadline, but the priority due date is February 1st. The University of Montana Western Foundation exists to inspire generosity and connect donors with their passions in order to promote access and excellence in higher education at the University of Montana Western. With this in mind, the Montana Western Foundation cultivates donor and alumni relationships, assists students with scholarship support and assists with program and capital project support across the university.

The AFI Conservatory offers a limited number of scholarships each year to both domestic and international incoming Fellows. Scholarships are awarded based on financial need and merit. Scholarship award amounts vary and may partially cover the cost of tuition and fees. Several scholarships are available for Fellows from underrepresented communities, specific nationalities and Conservatory disciplines. The AFI Conservatory is a need-blind institution. The Ritchie-Jennings Memorial Scholarship provides an opportunity for students to advance their education and anti-fraud career paths. Additionally, it supports their anti-fraud interests by providing a full year of ACFE membership. Award amounts are $10,000, $7,500, $5,000 and $2,000 and are paid directly to the recipient’s university or college. About Alvin H. Johnson AMS 50 Fellowships provide funding for the final year of PhD dissertation work and are awarded on the basis of academic merit. Fellows receive a twelve-month stipend, currently set at $25,000. They may also elect to accept the award on a non-stipendiary basis (thus freeing scarce resources for others). The fellowships are intended for full-time study. There are no provisions for the payment of tuition. The fellowships are not intended for support of the early stages of research. It is expected that a fellow’s dissertation will be completed within the fellowship year. Fellows are selected in the spring and announced in the summer. Doris L. Kays Scholarship Endowed by both the San Antonio Classical Society and the Texas State Junior Classical League, this scholarship honors Mrs. Doris L. Kays, who passed away in 2007. Before her passing, Mrs. Kays served for many years as one of the State Chairs for TSJCL and was responsible for bringing Certamen to the state of Texas when she hosted the 1st Certamen tournament in the state of Texas at MacArthur High School in San Antonio. This scholarship honors Mrs. Kays' dedication to Classics, her students, and the education profession. The purpose of the Bobby Owen Memorial Scholarship is to promote careers as firefighters, police officers or emergency medical providers by awarding scholarships to students pursuing such careers. The scholarship program is available to students residing in Prince George County, the Enon District of Chesterfield County, or Varina. Student interns working for John Randolph Foundation are eligible to apply; however, foundation trustees, other foundation employees and their immediate families (parents, spouses, brothers, sisters, and anyone claimed as a dependent for tax purposes) are not eligible to apply. The Fred Scheigert Scholarship Program awards four (4) students an individual prize of $3,000. This competitive scholarship is available to full-time college students with low vision, chosen from among those who meet the visual acuity and academic guidelines. An ophthalmologist or optometrist must complete and submit the online CCLVI Eye Report Form indicating that the chosen scholarship recipients meet low vision criteria. The completed online Eye Report Form must be received within 50-days of selection.

This scholarship, in memory of Libbie H. Hyman, one of America's foremost invertebrate zoologists, provides assistance to students to take courses or to pursue research on invertebrates at a marine, freshwater, or terrestrial field station. The Hyman Scholarship is intended to help support a first meaningful field-station experience for an early graduate student or an advanced undergraduate. ELIGIBILITY and AWARD PARAMETERS: - Awards are limited to undergraduates or graduate students currently enrolled in degree programs; priority will be given to advanced undergraduates or early graduate students. - Previous recipients of this scholarship are not eligible unless they encountered exceptional circumstances regarding the use of their award and the scholarship committee chair has specifically approved their re-eligibility. - Applicants do NOT need to be members of SICB. - Funds must be used to support coursework or research on invertebrates at a field station. - Most awards are in the range of $1000-$5000. When preparing your application, include a complete and detailed budget, even if it exceeds $5000. - Priority will be given to projects that represent the first significant field station experience for a student. We advise applicants to address in their materials how their proposed project would work towards this goal. - This award supports in-person field station experiences; funds are not transferrable to alternative activities. In the event that a scholarship recipient is unable to pursue the activities detailed in their proposal (e.g., due to unforeseen travel restrictions, course cancellation, or health issues) the recipient must inform the scholarship committee, which will review each case individually. If it is determined that the recipient will not be able to use the funds for an eligible experience, the funds will be retained by SICB and the recipient will be allowed to apply in future funding cycles (subject to all other eligibility requirements). - Awardees are expected to produce a brief report on their experiences, which will be published in the SICB DIZ newsletter. Jennifer C. Groot Memorial Fellowships provides two awards for undergraduate or graduate students to enable their participation in an archaeological excavation or survey in Jordan. The fellowships are to assist in partial payment of essential expenses and are strictly limited to students with little or no prior archaeological field experience. The fellowship must be used during the period between May 1 of the award year and April 30 of the following year. Prior recipients of a Jennifer C. Groot Memorial Fellowship or applicants who have had more than one season in the field are ineligible. Senior staff whose expenses are being borne largely or entirely by the project are ineligible. The Jennifer C. Groot Memorial Fellowship provides support in the amount of $3,000 for each award. Applicants must be U.S. or Canadian citizens and must be planning to participate in an ASOR/CAP affiliated project in Jordan. This award is a competitive research grant for AHNA member(s) conducting Holistic Nursing research that demonstrates advancing Holistic Nursing practices. This grant is worth up to $5,000. The School of Art awards a minimum of 2 $3,000 scholarships every year to high school seniors based upon portfolio requirements.
