Since 1994, the Quad City Engineering and Science Council, in collaboration with its member societies, local businesses, and regional universities, has been annually providing one-time scholarships to high school seniors pursuing STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) studies. Most recently, 17 scholarships totaling $31,500 were awarded at the Annual National Engineers Week STEM Celebration on February 22nd.

The purpose of this scholarship is to help you understand the negative effects of too much screen time.

Licensing International’s Scholarship Program grants scholarships to deserving individuals around the world who are interested in a career in brand licensing. Scholarships are available for students at all stages of their educational journey seeking degrees in business, marketing, design, engineering, entrepreneurial studies, e-commerce, and other brand licensing industry-related programs. The Licensing International Scholarship Program awards grants between $5,000 and $10,000 (or local equivalent) to deserving individuals. To apply, applicants must have at least a 3.2 GPA, and must submit two letters of recommendation along with a 300 word essay.

Spencer awards Undergraduate, Graduate, Ph.D., and Pre-Instructor of Practice scholarships to students enrolled at an accredited college or university in the United States and Canada and physically studying in either location (no remote coursework eligibility from other locations), including part-time Graduate scholarships to Risk Management & Insurance professionals continuing their education. Applicants must seek a career in Risk Management, Insurance, and/or Actuarial Science.

The Edward G. and Helen A. Borgens Elementary Teacher Scholarship is a one-time preferred amount of up to $1,500 awarded to one student who is twenty-five (25) years of age or older. Applicants must be studying to teach at the elementary school level. Applicants must have at least a 3.5 GPA, be at least a college sophomore, and attend or plan on attending an accredited college or university. The award is based on academic merit and is not automatically renewable, however, recipients may reapply for consideration as long as they meet the eligibility requirements.

A preferred amount $5,000 scholarship awarded to one student either attending or planning to attend an approved, accredited medical school, college, or university. The applicant must have a minimum GPA of 3.25. This scholarship is not automatically renewable; however, recipients may reapply for consideration each year for up to four consecutive years, pending receipt of proof of continued enrollment (no pre–med, veterinarian, or physician assistant), and after the first semester, an annual transcript review indicating a minimum GPA of 3.25.

Purpose: To provide funding for professional development experiences for English/language arts teachers working in public educational institutions. The scholarship supports postgraduate training to enhance teaching skills and/or career development in teaching. Eligibility: Applicants are required to be teachers of English/language arts in a publicly funded institution. At the time of the award, the recipient must also be a member of NCTE. Criteria: Applicants must complete the application form below. It includes a written statement of no more than 500 words indicating: The professional development experience for which you seek support, including specific details such as course titles, planned dates of study, fees, etc. Why you feel that you should be considered for this scholarship and how it will serve you in your career.

The Irene and Daisy MacGregor Memorial Scholarship is awarded to two students of high scholastic standing and character who have been accepted into or are pursuing an approved course of study to become a medical doctor (no pre-med, veterinarian or physician assistant) at an approved, accredited medical school. Renewal is conditional upon maintenance of a GPA of 3.25. This scholarship is also available to students who have been accepted into or who are pursuing an approved course of study in the field of psychiatric nursing at the graduate level at accredited medical schools, colleges, or universities. There is a preference to females "if equally qualified."

A one-time $2,500 award is given to three students who are in financial need and who have been accepted or is currently enrolled in an accredited school of nursing. A letter of acceptance into a nursing program or a transcript stating the applicant is in a nursing program must be included with the application.

The Lillian and Arthur Dunn Scholarship, in the amount of $2,500, is awarded for up to four years to two children or step children of dues-paying DAR members. Renewal is conditional upon maintenance of a GPA of 3.25. Outstanding recipients pursuing graduate study may reapply each year for an additional period of up to four years of study. The DAR member number of the mother, who is a current-dues paying member, must be included with the application.

The William B. Ruggles Journalism Scholarship honors the esteemed Texas journalist who coined the phrase “Right to Work” and contributed greatly to the movement’s advancement. One $2,000 scholarship is awarded annually to the student who exemplifies the dedication to the Right to Work principles and high journalistic standards of the late Mr. Ruggles. Individuals seeking to attend or individuals attending a United States institution of higher learning (undergraduate or graduate) who have demonstrated journalistic skills or major in journalism may apply. Applicants must: -Demonstrate potential for the successful completion of the educational requirements in an accredited college, university, or other qualifying institution. This includes (a) supplying a copy of your most recent transcript or acceptance letter from the school you are or will attend, and (b) providing proof that you are or will be enrolled in the school’s journalism program or proof of your journalistic skills by actual journalistic works, which can include social media. -Demonstrate your writing ability and an understanding of the Right to Work principles and compulsory unionism’s economic and social problems by submitting a 500 – 700-word essay.

The Madeline Pickett (Halbert) Cogswell Nursing Scholarship, in the amount of $2,500, is awarded to two students who are accepted or enrolled in an accredited school of nursing. Applicants must be members, descendant of members or be eligible for membership in NSDAR. The DAR member number must be in the Application.

This scholarship is awarded once a year to a Native American college and technical student of any age, any tribe and in any state who has financial need and a minimum GPA of 3.25 based on a 4.0 scale or the equivalent GPA on the scaled used by the applicable educational institution. Applicants must be Native Americans and must be able to prove membership in a tribe that is recognized at a state and/or federal level. These awards are available for vocational training or college/university undergraduate or graduate students. Preference is given to undergraduate applicants. The amount of the scholarship is $4,000.00 and more than one may be awarded each year.

A $5,000 scholarship awarded to one student who has been accepted into or who are pursuing an approved course of study to become a medical doctor (no pre–med, veterinarian, or physician assistant) at approved, accredited medical schools, colleges, and universities. The scholarship is not automatically renewable; however, applicant may reapply for up to four years.

Purpose To protect, preserve, and expand knowledge about the medicinal use of plants, thus preventing the disappearance of plants with therapeutic potential. Providing this research opportunity for botanists can, in turn, assist medical science to develop therapies that improve the quality of life of patients and develop life-saving medicines. Education Doctoral candidates and recent PhDs in botany Eligibility Open to students currently and actively enrolled in PhD programs at recognized universities and PhD graduates who have received their degrees in the last five years. Eligibility is open to U.S. Citizens and permanent residents who are enrolled in a U.S.-based institution. Due to IRS restrictions, GCA is unable to fund awards for international applicants. Provisions Provides one annual grant award of $4,500, intended to enable a student to pursue an avenue of research that might otherwise prove closed. Accordingly, the funds may be used to cover direct costs associated with travel, field studies, or laboratory research.

The Mary Elizabeth Lockwood Beneventi MBA Scholarship is a one-time preferred amount $2,000 scholarship for a student attending graduate school full time in an accredited college or university and majoring in business administration. The applicant must have a minimum GPA of 3.25. The scholarship is not automatically renewable, however, recipients may reapply for consideration each year.

The DAR Centennial Scholarship is awarded to two outstanding students pursuing a course of graduate study in the field of historic preservation at a college or university in the United States. This scholarship was established from a portion of the proceeds from the sale of the Centennial Pin. This is a one-time award in the amount of $2,500.

Each year, the interest earned from the Shropshire Scholarship fund is used to provide these awards. The scholarship fund is currently benefited by the Civitan International Fellows Programs and direct contributions. Any Civitan, Campus Civitan, or Junior Civitan who has been a member for 2 years and is enrolled or planning to enroll in a degree or certificate program at an accredited community college, vocational school, four-year college or graduate school is eligible to apply for a Shropshire Scholarship. Candidates are judged by a scholarship selection committee appointed by Civitan International. The decisions of the selection committee are FINAL and NOT subject to review. The LeRoy W. Homer Jr. Foundation Flight Training Scholarship provides funding for flight training and ground school. Applicant must have completed or commit to complete a Private Pilot Written Ground School with authorization to take the written exam BEFORE an award will be granted. Please include leadership roles and community service/volunteer involvement as well as sports participation and other organizations you are involved with. We would like to learn about achievements you have earned. You must receive two letters of recommendation on file for your application to be scored. There are three essay prompts where we wish to learn most why you wish to become a pilot and what inspired you to reach for the sky.

Open to high school seniors who are planning to attend community college and students already attending community college. Applicants must be high school seniors or college underclassmen, and must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents. To apply, students must respond to the prompt in 250 words or less.

This scholarship is open to college students who plan to transfer or are currently transferring to another educational institution in pursuit of a bachelor’s degree. Applicants must be enrolled as an undergraduate student. Applicants must also be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents to be eligible for this award.

The “Mom to Scholar” Scholarship for Mothers is open to mothers who want to begin or resume their journey towards earning a technical or college degree. In order to be eligible for this scholarship you must be a mother over the age of 35 who demonstrates financial need. Applicants must also be U.S. Citizens, Permanent Residents, or have DACA status.

The “Gutsy” Graduate Student Essay Scholarship aims to help lessen the financial burden for a passionate graduate student who is actively looking for ways to fund their higher education journey. The “Gusty Graduate Student” Essay Scholarship is open to incoming or current graduate students. This scholarship opportunity is open to students seeking master’s and doctorate degrees as well as graduate certificates. Applicants must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents. To apply applicants must reply to the prompt in 250 words.

This scholarship is open to undergraduate and graduate students who are currently enrolled in a nursing program. Applicants must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents to be3 eligible for this award. The SWE Past Presidents Scholarship was endowed in 2008. US citizens studying engineering or engineering technology in their sophomore through senior year of undergraduate or graduate students are eligible to apply. The Ada I. Pressman Memorial Scholarship is renewable for five years. All engineering majors are eligible. A one-time preferred amount of $5,000 to two deserving female students who are US citizen attending medical school. The selection process is based on academic merit with a minimum GPA of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale or the equivalent GPA on the scale used by the applicable educational institution. The recipient may reapply for the scholarship each year, but is not guaranteed the award.

The Enid Hall Griswold Memorial Scholarship is awarded to two deserving college juniors or seniors enrolled in an accredited college or university in the United States who is pursuing a major in political science, history, government, or economics. This is a one-time award in the amount of $5,000. Applicants must be citizens of the United States to apply for one of the national scholarships offered by the DAR Scholarship Committee. Applicants must also attend or plan to attend an accredited college or university in the United States. DAR chapter sponsorship is not required, however, applicants may want to reach out to a DAR chapter in their area for help with their applications.

The Ralph M. Knight Chemistry and Engineering Scholarship was established in 2010 by Mrs. Nancy Knight in memory of her husband, Ralph, a chemical engineer. The Knight family wishes to honor his legacy and help others contribute to society as he did. The scholarship is intended for freshman-year tuition assistance at a four-year college or university in the United States for a student majoring in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials and Science Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Solar Energy Engineering, or Structural Engineering. The Ralph M. Knight Chemistry and Engineering Scholarship is a $5,000 award toward the first year of tuition at a four-year college or university in the United States for students declaring one of the specified majors. Applicants must be full-time seniors attending a Catholic high school in the Diocese of Phoenix, registered, practicing Catholics, or US citizens or Permanent Residents. Initial scholarship awards are not based on financial need or high school grade point average. The scholarship will be paid directly to the college/university.

SWE Scholarships support women pursuing ABET-accredited bachelor or graduate student programs in preparation for careers in engineering, engineering technology and computer science in the United States.

The IBM Linda Sanford Women's Technical Advancement Scholarship supports re-entry and non-traditional students studying computer engineering, computer science, engineering technology, and mathematics. This scholarship is renewable for five years. Applicants do not have to be a member of SWE to be eligible for SWE scholarships. Re-entry students don't have to be enrolled full-time. SWE considers academic achievements, participation in extracurricular or volunteer activities, and interest in engineering. The Applegate-Jackson-Parks Future Teacher Scholarship honors three Michigan public school teachers who were fired for no other reason than their refusal to pay union dues. One $1,000 scholarship is awarded annually to the education student who best exemplifies the dedication to the Right to Work principles and the high professional standards of Carol Applegate, Kay Jackson, and Dr. Anne Parks.

The ASNT Engineering Undergraduate Scholarship is designed for undergraduate students enrolled in U.S. colleges and universities with recognized engineering programs who have an active interest in the field of nondestructive testing and evaluation (NDT/NDE).

Because we believe that finances should never prevent someone from getting a college degree, the University has committed to covering the cost of tuition and mandatory fees for students who could not otherwise afford to attend. Completing the WSU General Scholarship Application and the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) or WASFA (Washington Application for State Financial Aid) puts you in the running for numerous awards, plus many more. We’ll consider you for all the awards that fit your qualifications, and you could end up receiving more than one. The Washington State University Cougar Commitment Scholarship is available to Washington students who demonstrate financial need. A student can be considered for Cougar Commitment funding for a maximum of eight total semesters of continuous enrollment. To be eligible for the Cougar Commitment, you must be a Washington state resident pursuing your first bachelor’s degree. Eligible applicants must: be receiving the Washington College Grant or Pell Grant; complete a FAFSA no later than January 31; and apply to WSU for admission by January 31 and enroll as a full-time freshman or transfer student (at least 12 semester credit hours). New students must apply for admission to WSU by March 15 for fall semester or by November 15 for spring semester. This scholarship covers full tuition and fees.

The $3,000 Fair Chance “Trade School” Scholarship is awarded to two students from across the state of Washington pursuing an education in a trade. An example of a trade could be cosmetology, aesthetician, electrician, plumbing, graphic design, construction management, radiation specialist, and many more! All funds are paid directly to the recipient’s trade school to be used toward tuition or books.

Purpose: The Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise scholarship program provides new Phi Theta Kappa members with financial resources to help defray educational expenses while enrolled in an associate degree program to develop leadership potential through participation in Phi Theta Kappa programs. Awards: $1,000 Of these awards, several scholarships are earmarked for current members of the military, their spouses or dependents, and military veterans. Additionally, scholarships for international students or students who do not hold a residency status as noted below are eligible to apply through the Global Leaders of Promise Scholarship program. Applicants apply on the same application but do not have to provide residency documentation. The number of awards varies annually. Eligibility: Be currently enrolled in 6 or more semester credits of associate degree, college-level coursework through December 2025. Completed at least 12 credit hours but no more than 36 by January 31, 2026. 3.50 or higher GPA on coursework completed in the last 5 years. PTK member in good standing. Have not yet received an associate or bachelor’s degree from any college. Academic record free from suspension, probation, or other disciplinary actions. Do not have a criminal record, or if a convicted felon, have all conditions of sentencing, including probation/parole, completed.

Eligibility -Must complete the WSU General Scholarship Application by January 31 prior to the start of the academic year. There is no additional application process. -Resident of Washington State. -Students who have completed at least their first year of higher education. -Full-time students majoring in Engineering, Sciences, Pre-Medicine, or Pre-Dentistry.

Our scholarships are for undergraduate students only. In-state and out-of-state scholarships are available. International Programs offers a 1-time, $1,500 tuition reduction emergency tuition support (amount is subject to change) to students who encounter a financial need caused by circumstances beyond their control while enrolled as a student. The CAHNRS Community Scholarship was established in 2023 by CAHNRS Dean Wendy Powers and is funded by the CAHNRS community. This scholarship is intended for CAHNRS students who demonstrate strong potential, a solid work ethic, and a commitment to their education but who may face unforeseen financial hardships that could prevent them from completing their degrees. The funds may be disbursed at any time during the semester, and a student’s GPA will not be considered in the selection process. The WSU general scholarship application is one application for hundreds of departmental and program awards. International students are encouraged to apply. However, it is important to note that application decisions are not made until just a few weeks before fall semester begins, and highly performing, new international students have historically not received any more than $5,000. This scholarship was created by the Wiggins Family, who through the GI Bill starting back in 1947, were able to get their business educations through Washington State University. Together they created a fund to assist business students who have served in the military earn their education. This scholarship was established to honor the Wiggins Family and of U.S. Military Veterans and WSU Business Alumni, and to support student veterans as they pursue a career following their military service. The Bob & Betty Lovett Donellan Scholarship for Opportunity was established to award a scholarship to a Native American student who demonstrates a passion for education and teaching. This student should be one who lives, or lived, on a reservation and is an incoming student or existing student who intends to pursue a degree in Education and desires to return to the reservation as an Educator to empower more Native Americans to pursue a degree in higher education. Preference should be given to someone demonstrating an interest in returning to a reservation as an educator to empower more Native Americans to pursue higher education. One award of $2000 is awarded each year. Deadline: Students need to complete the WSU General Scholarship Application by January 31 to be considered for this award.

The Cozier family has a long association with WSU. Both Carl and Philip were Cougs, along with other family member and their relatives. Carl Cozier farmed and raised livestock. He attended the Washington Agricultural School of farming from 1899-1901 and the WAC School of Veterinary Science from 1901-1903. He later completed his DVM and practiced veterinary medicine in Washington for many years. Throughout his life he was a dedicated advocate of education. The Carl Cozier Elementary School in Bellingham, WA was named for him. Philip Cozier graduated from WSU in 1937 with a degree in business. After graduation, he was employed by the General Electric Company.

(School of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science) Used to assist students in electrical engineering or related fields. Preference given to Native American students. Must have at least a 3.2 GPA.

Each year, twelve junior-level students (four from the Voiland College of Engineering and Architecture, four from the Carson College of Business, two from the College of Arts and Sciences, and two from the Murrow College of Communication) are selected as Boeing Scholars. In their senior year, these students participate in a multidisciplinary design course in which they address Boeing-sponsored projects with both engineering and business components. The project culminates in a formal presentation to Boeing management and entry in the Business Plan Competition.

The Voiland College of Engineering and Architecture offers more than 300 Dean’s Scholarships a year to incoming freshmen and transfer students. Freshmen with high academic achievement (high school grade point average and pre-college test scores) will be considered. Students are encouraged to apply early – both for admission and for the Dean’s Scholarship – as the number of scholarships awarded is limited by the funds available each year. Scholarships may also be restricted to specific campus locations. Pullman campus transfer students who have completed the calculus series and the calculus-based physics series or the chemistry series with a GPA of 3.2 or higher will be considered for the Dean’s Scholarship. Apply for the Scholarship Complete the WSU General Scholarship Application to be considered for the Dean’s Scholarship. The annual deadline is January 31 for the following academic year.

(Department of English) For Native American women and will be chosen on the basis of qualifications for graduate study and motivation to complete a Master of Arts degree program in English. Recipients will receive a stipend of $2000 per year, for two years, normally to supplement a Teaching Assistantship.

Eligibility Must complete the WSU General Scholarship Application by January 31 prior to the start of the academic year. There is no additional application process. Preference shall be to split the scholarship awards between Native American students pursuing a career in any health-related major and Native American students pursuing any single area of study. Health-related majors may include, but are not limited to, those offered in nursing, pharmacy, and speech and hearing sciences. Recipients must maintain a grade point average commensurate with the requirements of their degree program. Each fellowship may be renewable, contingent upon recipient’s satisfactory progress toward achieving their degree. Fellowship recipients shall be Native American students who are enrolled members of an American Indian tribe, with preference to members of Northwest tribes, particularly Washington, Idaho, and Oregon.

J. Richard Franks Scholarship for Native American Students in Speech and Hearing Sciences Applicants must be an enrolled Native American tribal member or show proof of descendance from a Native American tribe or a Native village/association; accepted into or currently enrolled in the WSU Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences undergraduate or graduate program with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0; have documented close social and cultural ties to a Native American tribe, Native village/association, or Native community; and demonstrate a desire to serve Native tribes and/or communities.

Serving 25 new students each year, the Carson EDGE program addresses the specific needs and barriers of students from low socio-economic, first-generation backgrounds as they transition to WSU and pursue an undergraduate business degree. Upon successfully completing their first year, Carson EDGE students are awarded a $3,000 scholarship annually, renewable for up to 3 years for a total of $9,000. Based in theory and driven by best practice, Carson EDGE programming: -Develops within students’ the academic skills and behaviors that enable college success; -Increases students’ social capital; -Improves students’ contextual skills and awareness of both higher education and business; -Increases and improves students’ non-cognitive beliefs, skills, and behaviors, including growth mindset, pluralistic orientation, social self-concept, academic self-concept, and social agency. As a result of our curriculum and scholarship, the Carson EDGE program seeks to significantly improve the retention, academic standing, and graduation rates of first-generation and low socioeconomic students within the Carson College of Business. Thus, the Carson EDGE program seeks to achieve the following objectives: 100% of students served by the program will persist from their first academic year to their second year at WSU. 95% of students served by the program will maintain satisfactory academic standing within the Carson College of Business, earning at least a 2.5 cumulative Business GPA. 60% of students served by the program will graduate from the Carson College of Business with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Hospitality Business Management within four years. PROGRAM ELIGIBILITY & REQUIREMENTS To be eligible for Carson EDGE, a student must be a first-year, first-generation (FG) and/or low socio-economic (LI) WSU student and have declared an academic interest in a business major. Once accepted into the program, students are not required to reapply and may continue to participate through graduation from Washington State University as long as they meet the following requirements: Successful completion of their first year of year of the Carson EDGE program 2.6 Cumulative GPA Continuing Academic Interest or Admitted Major in Business Full-time student status on the Pullman Campus

This award is open to all U.S. students who are 14 and older and who are currently enrolled (or enroll no later than fall of 2027) in an accredited postsecondary institution of higher education. One scholarship winner will receive a $1,500 scholarship. Applicants must: Must be 14 years of age or older at time of application.| Must be a legal U.S. resident.| Must be a resident of one of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia.| This award is for U.S. students. Three categories of awards have been established to include a Graduate Division, an Upper Division, and a Lower Division. Three awards will be dispersed per category in the following manner: 1st PLACE $800 2nd PLACE $400 3RD PLACE $200 WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR THE SCHOLARSHIPS? Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or an eligible non-citizen. Applicants must be a member of an ACJA/LAE chapter or Member-at-Large in good standing (both at the time of submission and at the time of the awards). Membership applications with the initiation fee of $40 may accompany entries. The categories of competition based on academic level are: Graduate Level for those enrolled in an accredited post-graduate program such as a Master’s or Doctorate Degree program; Upper Division Level for those enrolled in an accredited undergraduate degree program who have completed a minimum of 70/105 semester/quarter hours of course work; and Lower Division Level for those enrolled in an accredited undergraduate degree program who have completed no more than 70/105 semester/quarter hours and no less than 12 semester hours/18 quarter hours.

Anderson Law Enforcement/Police Scholarship (includes Police, Sheriff, State Patrol, Game Warden and Corrections Officer) The Anderson Law Enforcement / Police Scholarship is awarded to a student pursuing a career in the field of law enforcement including police, sheriff, state patrol, game warden or corrections officer. The $5,000 award is payable in full the first year following the award. All funds are paid directly to the recipient’s college or university to be used toward tuition or books. CRITERIA Washington resident: graduating seniors OR returning students/adult learners Attending an accredited college or university (two or four year) in Washington; school must offer a Criminal Justice program Preference will be given to students pursuing a career in law enforcement as listed above Recipient must be a full-time student, continuing in the field of Law Enforcement Cover letter required Unofficial transcripts (high school or most recent two years of schooling) Two letters of recommendation: one from a scholastic contact and one from an employer, volunteer contact, or advisor of school-sponsored activity. The $3,000 Fair Chance Scholarship is awarded to 26 Washington students pursuing higher education. All funds are paid directly to the recipient’s college, university or trade school to be used toward tuition or books. CRITERIA Graduating high school senior or adult learner (at least one year out of high school) Student must be a resident of Washington state Attending an accredited two-or four-year college or university All applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.7 Currently working, volunteering or involved in a school-sponsored activity at least 8 hours per month Prior involvement with the Fair (4H, FFA, etc.) and financial need may be considered, though neither is a requirement Most recent copy of transcript (unofficial) Two letters of recommendation: one from a scholastic contact and one from an employer, volunteer contact, or advisor of school-sponsored activity. RECIPIENTS Fair Chance Scholarships will be awarded to 20 high school seniors and six adult learners (at least one year out of high school) from across the state of Washington.
