Scholarship Description
This scholarship is offered to Air and Space Force personnel and their families to pursue and conquer their challenges.
The $1000 award is open to current and former members of the Air and Space Forces to include Active Duty, Air National Guard, and Reservists as well as their spouses, children, and dependents. The scholarship may be applied to undergraduate or graduate degrees at a college or university or to pilot training towards a private pilot's license at a flight training facility.
Requirements
-Applicant must include an essay of not more than 600 words describing how this scholarship will assist in achieving their educational goals and how these goals support the legacy of the Tuskegee Airmen.
-One letter of recommendation written by a teacher, a supervisor, a counselor, or the director of an organization in which you participate.
-If the applicant is a current or recent high school, college, or university student, an unofficial transcript is required.
-Cumulative GPA must be at least 3.0.
-Acceptance or enrollment into an accredited college/university unless pursuing pilot training.
-A copy of your, your spouse's, or your parent’s/guardian’s DD214 or proof of military service such as a front and back copy of a military ID card.
-Recipients must provide AFA with a W-9 form in order to receive their award.
