Scholarship Description
We know how important financial certainty is to your ability to succeed as a student. With awards ranging from $2,000-$4,000, the Nanook Pledge scholarship provides four years of predictable financial assistance. Recipients must be enrolled full-time (12 UAF credits) during the fall and spring semesters and must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP), meaning maintaining a GPA of 2.0+ and completing 67% of attempted classes.
Selection for this scholarship is based on previous academic success and the rate of tuition for which you qualify. Students who graduate in less than four years may be eligible to use remaining years for a graduate program, with permission by the Financial Aid Office.
The Nanook Pledge Scholarship can be used to cover tuition, fees, on-campus housing and meal plans, textbook and other course material costs charged to your student account. It cannot exceed your cost to attend, and will not be refunded if your combined gift aid exceeds your student bill in a semester. Students using a tuition waiver, military benefits or other funding sources may use their Nanook Pledge Scholarship to cover student account costs not covered by other funding, however if the scholarship amount exceeds the student account cost, no refund will be issued.
