Scholarship Description

The Martin Honors Scholarship is designed for those who are already in the transfer process, or are applying for admission to UW Seattle within the next 2 quarters. Students apply for this scholarship during spring (the application is generally available May-July), either having already been admitted to UW Seattle for spring or summer quarters, or anticipating admission for fall or winter quarter of the coming academic year. For example, those applying for the Martin Honors Scholarship in spring 2025 could be:

- already admitted to UW Seattle for spring quarter 2025, but have not earned more than 18 UW credits by July;
- already admitted to UW Seattle for summer quarter 2025;
- already admitted to UW Seattle, or still awaiting an admission decision for fall quarter 2025; OR
- Planning to apply for admission to UW Seattle for winter quarter 2026.

Eligibility Criteria:

Be Washington State residents who meet any one of the following three categories:
US citizens, or
US Permanent Residents, or
Undocumented students who qualify for in-state tuition.
Please see the Washington Application for State Financial Aid (WASFA) website for additional information about in-state tuition and Washington State financial aid qualifications. Please also read about UW’s requirements.
If you have any questions or concerns about meeting this requirement, please contact Robin Chang at robinc@uw.edu or 206-543-2603.
Be currently attending or have attended a community college in the state of Washington.
Have earned a minimum of 36 credits at a Washington State Community College by the time they matriculate at the University of Washington in Seattle. Students who hold an associate’s degree are encouraged to apply.
Washington State community college transfer students who are currently enrolled at the University of Washington in Seattle may not have earned more than 18 UW credits by the application deadline.
The award will depend on successful admission to University of Washington Seattle as a matriculated student. Unfortunately students planning to attend UW Bothell or UW Tacoma are not eligible to apply.

In most cases, that means you’re applying for the scholarship before you know whether you are able to be admitted to UW Seattle.
