Scholarship Description
Supported by the Department of Defense and administered by the National Science Teaching Association (NSTA), the Junior Science and Humanities Symposium (JSHS) is an annual program designed to inspire and recognize high school students for their original research in STEM. Through mentorship, competition, and scholarships, JSHS provides pathways to success for young scientists and engineers. The program culminates in a national symposium featuring students from across the country.
Scholarship Details
-168 total awards: 147 at the regional level and 48 at the national level
-Cash prizes and scholarships for top presenters
-Top national award: $12,000 scholarship for first place oral presentation
-Supported by the U.S. Department of Defense
-Program administered by the National Science Teaching Association (NSTA)
Eligibility Criteria
-Open to high school students passionate about STEM
-Students must submit and present original research projects
-Eligible for both regional and national level competitions
