Purpose
We know our scholarship recipients face many barriers, such as access to housing, food, and transportation. COVID-19 and its effects have only exacerbated these needs; many students depended on campus resources such as dormitories, food pantries, and mental health services that they are currently unable to access. The Student Assistance Fund will provide one-time cash assistance to eligible students to assist with needs that would otherwise hinder them from completing their academic program.


Amount & Use of Funds
Students may request and be awarded up to $500 per application. Students may receive support once per year, and apply a maximum of four times or the number of years remaining in their academic program, whichever is greater.


Funds may be used for any urgent need, but distribution of funds will be prioritized based on the following categories:
Housing
Technology/learning supports
Travel/transportation
Food
Health care
Child care


Criteria
To be eligible to apply for assistance, students must:
-Have received a one-time scholarship in the current or preceding year OR be currently receiving a multi-year renewable scholarship from the Foundation
-Have been enrolled in an academic program (full-time or part-time) in the preceding semester
Intend to remain enrolled in an academic program (full-time or part-time)

Selection & Awards
Students will be selected on a first-come, first-serve basis and awarded until funds are exhausted for the fiscal year.


Applications will be evaluated using the following criteria:
Use of Funds — Priority is given to requests to support the categories listed above.
Demonstration of Need — How clearly is the need defined? How strong is the request?
Urgency of Need — What is the immediate impact of this funding? What are the risks of not receiving this funding?

Spartan Transfer Scholarship

After being admitted, all transfer students are required to send final transcripts to MSU. The following transfer scholarships will be awarded based on transcripts submitted to MSU by:

The Transition to Teaching Scholarship provides students interested in pursuing a career in education the opportunity to earn a one-time, non-renewable scholarship of up to $10,000. In exchange, students agree to teach full-time for five years at an eligible Indiana school or repay the corresponding, prorated amount of the scholarship.

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
To qualify, a student must:
-possess a baccalaureate degree from an accredited postsecondary four (4) year institution;
-enroll in a Transition to Teaching program described in IC 20-28-4;
-be employed or volunteer at a K-12 school in the state of Indiana;
-agree in writing to:

The Transition to Teaching Scholarship provides students interested in pursuing a career in education the opportunity to earn a one-time, non-renewable scholarship of up to $10,000. In exchange, students agree to teach full-time for five years at an eligible Indiana school or repay the corresponding, prorated amount of the scholarship. PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS To qualify, a student must: -possess a baccalaureate degree from an accredited postsecondary four (4) year institution; -enroll in a Transition to Teaching program described in IC 20-28-4; -be employed or volunteer at a K-12 school in the state of Indiana; -agree in writing to: complete a Transition to Teaching program described in IC 20-28-4 and obtain an initial practitioner license under IC 20-28; -teach full-time for at least five (5) years in a public school or an eligible school (as defined in IC 20-51-1-4.7) in Indiana after obtaining the initial practitioner license under IC 20-28-4-6; -meet any other criteria established by the Commission.

Each scholarship of $500 applies only to programs for students residing in the 32 States in our nation that license the practice of Electrology.

The scholarship endowment was funded in 2002 by the New York Section and friends in SWE. It honors all the victims.

Will Rogers Memorial Scholarship

Income to be used for the education, training, or other assistance of handicapped students or students preparing themselves for work with handicapped children. The University is free to determine the amount of the scholarship to aid pupils who could not otherwise prepare themselves for this work. Can be used to help handicapped students prepare for admission to the University.
