The Stokes Scholarship Programs are funded by the Central Intelligence Agency, a U.S. government agency that provides objective intelligence on foreign countries and global issues to the president, the National Security Council, and other policymakers to help them make national security decisions. Every year, their Stokes Scholarship Program awards up to $25,000 to multiple postsecondary students who (1) can commit to working at the CIA for a period of 1.5 years for each year they receive the scholarship and (2) are willing to work a full-time schedule (40 hours/week) for a minimum of 12 weeks each summer in the WMA until graduation and onboard as an officer. The Chafee Education and Training Grant (also know as The Chafee Education and Training Voucher) provides funding to help current or former foster care youth with postsecondary education and training. To be eligible for the Chafee Education and Training Grant, applicants must: currently be in child welfare foster care; have been in child welfare foster care for at least 180 days (six months) after your 13th birthday and exited substitute care at age 14 or older; be a former foster youth who was adopted or entered into a guardianship on or after your 13th birthday, and your adoption/guardianship finalized after 9/1/2015; or be 25 or younger to apply. The final Chafee Grant disbursement must be received the term before the youth turns age 26. The number of recipients will vary.

The Joy and Justice in Mathematics Teaching and Learning (J-Squared) Project is a collaboration of the Wheelock College of Education and Human Development and the College of Arts and Sciences at Boston University and school districts in the Boston area. This program focuses on preparing teachers to facilitate meaningful mathematical discourse in the classroom while simultaneously increasing students’ critical consciousness of issues of racism and other social injustices. J-Squared scholars experience a rich, hands-on, inquiry-based teacher preparation program and work closely with teachers, mathematics educators, mathematicians and students. The J-Squared Project provides 100% tuition scholarships to individuals with backgrounds either in mathematics or related STEM fields to a one-year Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) degree program. The degree program leads to licensure to teach secondary mathematics. Once teaching, J-Squared scholars will be supported through summer and academic-year workshops, seminars, and mentoring. J-Squared Noyce scholars must: have an undergraduate degree in mathematics or related field; be a US citizen, national or permanent resident alien; and commit to teach for two years in a high-need district upon successful completion of the teacher certification program. The maximum dollar amounts will differ, and deadlines will also vary.

The Sterling Scholar Award Program is sponsored by KSL and Deseret News. It recognizes outstanding scholastic achievement of high school seniors in the state of Utah. There are several categories in which students compete. High schools may nominate one candidate to compete in each category and students may only compete in one category. Each high school determines how nominees are selected. From the nominees, they select a semi-finalist who will then move on to the Regional Level to compete.
