Renowned for his pioneering role in developing applied anthropology as a graduate field, Kushner served as Chair of the University of South Florida’s Anthropology Department and Associate Dean of Social and Behavioral Sciences. Under his leadership, USF became a leading center for applied anthropology, with numerous MA and Ph.D. students in the field. Kushner strongly advocated for field experiences, believing they offer invaluable insights for anthropologists. Purpose We know our scholarship recipients face many barriers, such as access to housing, food, and transportation. COVID-19 and its effects have only exacerbated these needs; many students depended on campus resources such as dormitories, food pantries, and mental health services that they are currently unable to access. The Student Assistance Fund will provide one-time cash assistance to eligible students to assist with needs that would otherwise hinder them from completing their academic program. Amount & Use of Funds Students may request and be awarded up to $500 per application. Students may receive support once per year, and apply a maximum of four times or the number of years remaining in their academic program, whichever is greater. After being admitted, all transfer students are required to send final transcripts to MSU. The following transfer scholarships will be awarded based on transcripts submitted to MSU by: May 31: for students starting fall semester December 31: for students starting spring semester Any transcripts submitted after these dates will not be considered when awarding transfer scholarships. Transfer scholarships are not awarded for students starting in the summer semester. This award of $1,500 or $2,500 annually goes to students transferring to MSU with a minimum of 28 transfer hours from a regionally accredited institution and a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA. Students receiving a Spartan Transfer Scholarship may also be eligible for the Associate Achievement Award and other MSU scholarship awards, up to cost of attendance. All admitted transfer students will automatically be considered for this award after sending their final transcripts to MSU. No additional applications are required.

The Educator Retooling Conditional Scholarship supports Washington State certified educators looking to add a shortage area endorsement to their certificate. Participants are awarded up to $3,000 per endorsement add-on. Participants must fulfill their service obligation to avoid paying back the award. Applications may be submitted on a rolling basis (there is no deadline.) Minimum Qualifications – Educator Retooling Conditional Scholarship Applicants must: Hold a current Washington teacher certificate (Residency, Professional, or Continuing) or an expired Washington teacher certificate issued after 2005. Pursue an additional endorsement in a shortage area. Take one of the following pathways to add the endorsement that must be completed in the equivalent of one full-time academic year: Complete an endorsement test only. The Pipeline for Paraeducators Conditional Scholarship is designed to support paraeducators and Recruiting Washington Teachers alumni who wish to become teachers by providing financial aid for the completion of an Associate of Arts degree. Participants are eligible to receive a Pipeline for Paraeducators Conditional Scholarship for up to four academic years. Scholarship award amounts may vary depending upon financial need and funds available. The Pipeline for Paraeducators award amount is up to $4,000 per academic year. Participants are expected to continue to earn their certification and fulfill a teaching service obligation in exchange for receiving the scholarship. Participants must currently be enrolled to receive an award. Applications may be submitted on a rolling basis (there is no deadline.) Applicants must: Not have earned a college degree. The Transition to Teaching Scholarship provides students interested in pursuing a career in education the opportunity to earn a one-time, non-renewable scholarship of up to $10,000. In exchange, students agree to teach full-time for five years at an eligible Indiana school or repay the corresponding, prorated amount of the scholarship. PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS To qualify, a student must: -possess a baccalaureate degree from an accredited postsecondary four (4) year institution; -enroll in a Transition to Teaching program described in IC 20-28-4; -be employed or volunteer at a K-12 school in the state of Indiana; -agree in writing to: complete a Transition to Teaching program described in IC 20-28-4 and obtain an initial practitioner license under IC 20-28; -teach full-time for at least five (5) years in a public school or an eligible school (as defined in IC 20-51-1-4.7) in Indiana after obtaining the initial practitioner license under IC 20-28-4-6; -meet any other criteria established by the Commission.

The Adult Student Grant is specifically designed to meet the unique needs of working adults starting or completing an associate degree, bachelor's degree or certificate by providing a grant up to $2,000 for the academic year. The grant may be used toward tuition and regularly assessed fees. PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS Applicant must: -Be an Indiana resident and a U.S. Citizen or eligible non-citizen; -Be financially independent as determined by the FAFSA and demonstrate financial need*; -Be enrolled, or plan to enroll, in a course of study leading to an associate or first bachelor's degree, or a certificate at Ivy Tech Community College or Vincennes University; -Be enrolled in at least six (6) credit hours or their equivalent in any academic term; -Maintain satisfactory academic progress as defined by your institution; -Complete at least eighteen (18) credit hours or their equivalent in the previous academic year to renew; -Meet any other minimum criteria established by the Commission.

Scholarship: Ten (10) scholarships, each up to $2,000. Qualifications: This Scholarship is open to new and current students enrolled in a cosmetology or esthetics program in the U.S. or Canada. Sport Clips supports future professionals with education, contests, and scholarships, fostering an environment of continuous development and success for both your career and personal goals. Sport Clips is awarding up to 10 students who are enrolled in a Barber or Cosmetology School program, a $5,000 scholarship. A selection committee will review all eligible applications. There is no limit to the number of applicants from a school but there will be no more than two scholarship recipients chosen from an individual school per year for this program. The scholarships will be applied toward tuition and education expenses owed to the school. The check will be made payable to the school on behalf of the student. Scholarship recipient’s names and video footage may be used for marketing and promotional purposes as well as use on the web. Applicants must be in good standing as of the submission date. Applicants must have maintained at least 80% attendance, 80% grade average and demonstrate financial need. The applicant must be enrolled in a cosmetology or barber program and must have completed at least 50% of the required program hours. The application must also be verified by a school official.

The Alice Madden Barton Scholarship Program: A Great Clips Cosmetology School Scholarship for current students, high school students, and anyone interested in cosmetology or barbering as a career, can apply for a scholarship through the Alice Madden Barton Scholarship program. These scholarships can be used at any cosmetology or barbering school. The scholarships are given out twice a year in January and July to applicants who can demonstrate a passion for the craft and dedication to developing their skills. The completion of Electrology School leads to the professional designation of Licensed Electrologist (L.E.). Electrologists are self-employed business people who grow the economy through their efforts in the marketplace. Our mission is to reward this entrepreneurial spirit by lowering tuition for approved students. he OppU Achievers Scholarship celebrates achievement in its many forms and honors those who create opportunity for themselves and others. Founded in 2016, the scholarship provides $2,500 for current or future education costs. Scholarship selections are made four times a year. Annually, the OppU Achievers Scholarship awards a total of $10,000 to students who have demonstrated outstanding achievement.

All employees have access to a $28,000 scholarship benefit as soon as they pass their first skills test. Employees can use this scholarship for any college, vocational or self-improvement program. In order to be eligible for the scholarship benefit, an employee must continue to work a minimum of 20 hours per week throughout the duration of the program.

Grants are available for repairs and improvement to Native American church properties. The fund is administered by and donations to the fund are received by the Presbyterian Foundation. Grant application forms and grant requests are administered by the Rev. Irvin Porter, Native American Church Consultant in Racial Equity & Women’s Intercultural Ministries. To support trade students pursuing a career in STEM, the Appalachian Region Vocational Scholarship will support students in Kentucky, Virginia, and West Virginia as they pursue their passions. Industry jobs cannot be overlooked, so this scholarship will encourage students to take their own path toward a trade school education. Students from Kentucky, West Virginia, and Virginia are eligible to apply if they are going to trade school, or a traditional 2 or 4 year college for a STEM career, with a focus on engineering. The Susan E. Stutz McDonald Scholarship was established in 2017 by the Susan E. Stutz-McDonald Scholarship Foundation. SWE members in their graduate studies pursuing an engineering degree focused on water/wastewater engineering with undergraduate degrees in chemical, civil or environmental engineering focused on water/wastewater engineering are eligible to apply.
